Abstract

Abstract: The decomposition of 0.010 M (ICH2CH2CH2C02-) 2 in CC1, at 95.1 O gave cyclopropane (9.473 (15.8%), and CzC16 (24.2%). Decomposition of (ICH2CH2CD2C02-) 2 under the same conditions gave ICH2CH2-CDzCl and (ICH2CH2CD2-) 2; if the reaction mixture was treated with Ph3SnH, CH3CH2CD2C1,(CH3CHzCDz-) 2, and CH3CHZCD2CO2CD2CH2CH3 were produced.
