Abstract

The alkylpiperidine alkaloids are a group of natural products that are hypothetically derived from nicotinic acid and isolated from various marine organisms.[1, 2] The simplest family members are 3-alkylpyridines with molecular complexity increasing with the incorporation of tricyclic, tetracyclic and pentacyclic structural motifs (Scheme 1).
