Abstract

Dolichol phosphate 1 is a member of a class of polyisoprenoid phosphates that are linked to intermediates of glycoconjugate biosynthesis, notably that of N-glycans and bacterial cell surface polysaccharides. 1 Consequently, many of the glycosyltransferases involved in these biosynthetic processes require conjugation of substrate to polyisoprenoids for recognition.
