Abstract The racemic acetyltriorganylsilanes MePh (Me 3 C) SiC (O) Me (1) and MePh (Me 3 SiCH 2) SiC (O) Me (2) were prepared from MePhSiCl 2. Compounds 1 and 2 are available by two different three-step syntheses.
