Abstract

Amphiphilic dendrons that adopt the shape of a disk or disk fragment can self-assemble into supramolecular columns which self-organize into p6mm hexagonal or p2mm and c2mm rectangular 2D periodic assemblies.[1, 2] The apex of such dendrons generates the hollow [1l] or occupied [1a–k] functional core of the supramolecular column (Figure 1a).
