Abstract
Henke and Vaughen1 were first to disclose the process for the manufacture of p- aminophenol (PAP), which was obtained by direct hydrogenation of nitrobenzene (NB) in the presence of platinum supported on charcoal (Pt/C) catalyst and a mineral acid.
