Abstract
The dehydration of trans-cr,~, cr',~'-tetramethyl-l, 2-cyclopropanedimethanol (I), catalyzed by p-toluenesulfonic acid yielded six products: two cyclic ethers (4 and 7), three unsaturated hydroxy compounds (2, 5, and 8), and one unsaturated ketone (9). The react, ion routes were discussed on the basis of the structures of the products and the result, s of the gas chromatographic analysis.
