Abstract
Addition of an excess of an organoniagnesiurn compound, particularly if allylic, to the niultiple bond of an alkenol, alkynol, or allenol is often assisted hy the meta-lated hydroxyl group.'Metalated amino groups also assist addition, but some comparisons suggest that their assistance is less effective than that afforded by metalated hydroxyl groups. 2 Moreover, one comparison suggests that a phenylaminu group is more effective than a ...
