Abstract

Calpain I, an intracellular cysteine protease, has been implicated in the neurodegeneration following an episode of cerebral ischemia. In this paper, we report on a series of peptidomimetic ketomethylene and carbamethylene inhibitors of recombinant human calpain I (rh calpain I).
