Abstract
solution of the azido ketone (400 mmol) in methanol (300 mL) containing hydrogen chloride (400 mmol) and suspended 10% palladium on charcoal catalyst (4 g) was hydrogenated at 45 psig at room temperature for 5 h. The mixture was fiitered, the filtrate was evaporated in vacuo, and the residue was crystallized from a suitable solvent system.
