Abstract

The preparation of a series of bridgehead substituted bicyclo [2.1. l] hexane derivatives is described. The basicity constant of the amine, the acid dissociation constant of the carboxylic acid, and the dipole moment of the chloride have been obtained and have been compared with compounds having less bond angle distortion. The data indicate an enhanced amount of s-character in the external orbital at the bridgehead. The solvolysis of ...
