Abstract

Summary The properties of the anhydrous ethane-I,%-and propane-1, 3-disulfonic acids are described. Each of these acids may be converted into the corresponding cyclic anhydride either by heat or by the action of thionyl chloride. Ethane-l,% disulfonyl chloride is converted by fuming sulfuric acid into the parent disulfonic acid.
