Abstract

It seemed desirable to have a practical synthesis of alkali metal borylcyclopentadienides. These compounds should be useful as building blocks in organic and organometallic chemistry. In addition, we wished to obtain information on the interaction between the aromatic cyclopentadienide ring and the boryl substituent and on the extent of the presumed anion stabilization.
