Abstract
Discussion The N-substituted ethylenediaminetriacetic acids prepared in this investigation are potentially pentadentate chelating agents having the general structure where K represents butyl, cyclohexyl, octyl, dodecyl and benzyl. The general method of preparation consisted of the synthesis of the N-substituted ethylenediamine, followed by the condensation of the diamine with sodium cyanide and formaldehyde.
