Abstract: A convenient and general method was established to append tri-, hexa-, and nonadentate ligands about an aromatic or aliphatic core. This approach allows a variety of commercially available carboxylic acids to be transformed to their N-tris (hydroxymethyl) methylcarboxamides in one step.
