Abstract

The oxidation of trialkylboranes containing primary a1kyl groups with pyridinium chlorochromate (PCC) in methylene chloride provides the corresponding aldehydes in good yields. The stoichiometry for the oxidation of alcohols, borate esters and trialkylboranes with PCC has been examined.
