Abstract

An efficient methodology for synthesis of isoindoloisoquinoline and isoindolobenzazepine in oxidized forms as tetracyclic alkaloids cores are reported from N-bromoethylphthalimide () or phthalic anhydride and 2-phenylthioethylamine () in a five-or six-step sequence, respectively, in overall very good yields.
