Abstract

During early 31P nmr studies, attempts were made to establish group shifts typical of certain substituents attached to tervalent phosphorus. Special discrepancies between calculated and measured values were noted for “ethylchlorofluorophosphine,” I 'ethyldifluorophosphine ,” and I 'isopropyl ethylphosphonofluoridite.” It is now demonstrated by means of 31P nmr spectroscopy, and also from chemical evidence, that all three compounds are derivatives ...
