Abstract

The synthesis of organoiron derivatives of biologically active flavonoids is described. Lithium enolates of functionalised protected acetophenones and metallated derivatives of substituted aromatic rings have been employed as nucleophiles in combination with tricarbonyl (η5-cyclohexadienyl) iron electrophiles.
