Abstract

Syntheses and structural evidence are reported for the ortho, meta, and para isomers of (2- aminoethy1dithio)-benzoic acid and for various derivatives. The ortho isomer was protective against lethal effects of ionizing radiation, but related substances were not. The ortho isomer exists in two isomorphic forms.
