Abstract Two metallosulfophthalocyanines, RuPcS and FePcS, used in many catalytic oxidation reactions, were readily oxidized by hydrogen peroxide or monopersulfate, under acidic or neutral conditions in water, to form novel metal complexes derived from the facile oxidation of the PcS ring.
