Abstract

The preparation and identification of betamonoglycerides of aromatic acids was first accomplished by Helferich and Sieber'by acid hydrolysis of the ditrityl ether derivatives. These investigators prepared the beta-monobenzoate and beta-mono-(p-nitrobenzoate) of glycerol.
