Abstract
Alkylation of 17-electron half-sandwich dichloro diene complexes of Mo (III) affords thermally stable dialkyl and mixed chloroalkyl derivatives, which are characterized by sharp isotropic EPR spectra and reversible one-electron reduction processes. They do not react with Lewis bases, while the heterolytic cleavage of the Mo-R bonds can only be accomplished by the strongest Brønsted acids.
