Abstract

Summary The new methods reported in a previous paper2 for the preparation of dihydroisobenzofurans, isobenzofurans, o-dibenzoyl benzenes, and aryl-and alkyl- substituted naphthalenes from the butadiene and dimethylbutadiene adducts of dibenzoylethylene were shown to work equally well for the di-pchlorobenzoyl and di-p-toluyl ethylenes.
