Abstract

Abstract A study for determining the scope and limitations of a procedure for synthesising ethylene acetals from haloketones is presented. The method uses 1, 2-bis (trimethylsilyloxy) ethane, BTSE, as reagent and Nafion®-TMS as catalyst.
