Abstract

Cyclopropanes can be found in a number of biologically active compounds, and methods for the synthesis of this smallest carbocycle have been investigated extensively.[1] Most often, cyclopropanations are performed with Simmons–Smith-type reagents or by transition metal catalyzed reactions of olefins with diazo compounds.[1] Cyclopropanes can also be synthesized by reductive coupling of 1, 3-dihalogen derivatives. Reagents, which can ...
