Abstract

Samarium (I1) species can be efficiently generated in situ from a reaction between elemental samarium and chlorotrimethylsilane (Me3SiCl)/sodium iodide (NaI) reagent or bromotrimethylsilane (MeaSiBr) in acetonitrile.
