Abstract

A new, simple bleomycin (BLM) model compound bearing a carbamoyl group mimicking BLM's sugar-tagged carbamoyl moiety was synthesized and the physicochemical properties of its divalent metal complexes were studied. The Fe complex of the model compound exhibited enhanced oxygen activating ability.
