Abstract
Vinylcyclopropanation of olefins by copper-catalyzed reaction with vinyldiazomethane is a short and convenient synthesis of vinylcyclopropanes. Though all copper salts examined cause decomposition of vinyldiazomethane with evolution of nitrogen, only a very few catalyze cyclopropanation.
