Abstract

Abstract: The reaction of aminoacetonitrile with acetopyruvic acid (2, 4-dioxovaleric acid) leads to the production of two isomeric products, which have been identified as the enamines formed by reaction at the LY or y keto function. The two enamines form at closely similar rates and the equilibrium constants are similar, so that the kinetics of the reaction are complicated.
