Abstract

The synthesis of novel chlorovinyl sulfone-like chalcone derivatives and their antimalarial activity against cultured Plasmodium falciparum parasites, hemozoin formation, hemoglobin hydrolysis and murine malaria model are described. Compounds were prepared via Claisen– Schmidt condensation from available chloromethylphenyl sulfones with substituted aldehydes.
