Abstract

0.15 pc. per mmol. equivalent to 15 pc. per mmol. for the undiluted diethyl malonate-2-C14 product. Hence, the chemical purity of the diethyl malonate-Z-C1* was 16/ 25.7 = 58%, and the weight yield of 100% diethyl malon- ate based on sodium acetate-2-CI4 was 0.93 X 0.68 X 36% = 19%.
