Abstract

Three general synthetic routes to 1, 4linked carbon disaccharides (eg, 3, 4, 15-17, 21-23, 44, and 45) are preaented. Control of the stereochemistry at C. l', C. 2', C. 5', and (3.4, the incorporation of deuterium labels at the Ca position, and structural modifications of the right- hand ring are addressed.
