Abstract
For several years, this Laboratory has been interested in the autoxidation of fats and its retardation by antioxidants. Hamilton and Olcott3 described the autoxidation of purified oleic acid and related compounds. In continuation of this work, it was considered advisable to study the autoxidation of cis-9-octadecene, the hydrocarbon corresponding to oleic acid.
