Abstract
Summary The similar coordination chemistry of Pu (1V) and Fe (II1) in vitro and in vivo has led to a biomimetic approach in the synthesis of specific sequestering agents for Pu (1V) and other actinide (1V) ions. The octadentate chelating agents 6 and 7 have been prepared and their coordination properties and biological activity are under investigation.
