Abstract
Recently, tryprostatin A (la) and B (lb) have been isolated as secondary metabolites of a marine fungal strain BM939. These indoles have been shown to completely inhibit cell cycle progression of tsFT210 cells in the G2/M phase at a final concentration of 50 Ixg/mL for la and 12.5 lxg/mL for lb, respectively. 13 Tryprostatin A (la) and B (lb) contain a 2-isoprenyltryptophan moiety and a proline residue, which comprise the diketopiperazine unit.
