Abstract
A general method is described for the formation of vinylsilanes from ketones. Thus, conversion to the benzene-or p-toluenesulfonylhydrazone and sequential treatment with n- butyllithium and chlorotrimethylsilane in anhydrous tetramethylethylenediamine proceeds regiospecifically to afford the less substituted vinylsilane (in unsymmetrical cases).
