Abstract
In contrast to the successful formation of germaniumsulfur double-bond compounds by the reactions of thermodynamically stabilized germylene with elemental sulfur, 2 only 1, 2, 3, 4, 5-tetrathiastannolane 5 6 3 9 was isolated (9%) as a sulfurized product upon treatment of stannylene 2a with elemental sulfur (Scheme I).
