Abstract
Experimental Section Trimethyl 4-Methylorthobenzoate. N, 4-Dimethylbenzanilide (15.0 g, 0.067 mol) and methyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (13.0 g, 0.080 mol) were stirred in dry CHzClz (30 mL) overnight. Dry ether (100 mL) was added, resulting in the precipitation of the imidatonium salt.
