Abstract
Method B.-Ethylnylbenzene (27 g., 0.26 mole) and l-isobutenylpiperidine (40 g., 0.29 mole'were combined and heated at 145-150'for 15 hr. Distillation of the reaction mixture through a 6-in. Vigreux column gave, after removal of 15 g. of forerun, 40.5 g.(64%) of 1-(l- isopropyl-3-pheny1-2-propyn-3-yl) piperidine, bp 118-124'at 1.5 mm., n% 1.5393.
