Abstract

During the search for a more convenient method for the preparation of certain of the pharmacologically interesting piperazinecarbinols previously reported, the reaction of 1, l- diphenylethylene oxide with piperazines was examined. Gilman and Wanser2 had shown that N-methylethanolamine attacked this epoxide at the% carbon atom.
