Abstract

Introduction. ID-myo-Inositol 1, 4, 54risphosphate (1, 4, 5-IP3) plays an important role in the signal transduction processes as an intracellular second messenger. l Extracellular agonist stimulation generates 1, 4, 5-IP3 via phospholipase C catalyzed cleavage of the minor membrane lipid phosphatidylinositol 4, 5-bisphosphate. 1, 4, 5-IP3 mediates the release of Ca2+ from a store in the endoplasmic reticulum by an interaction with a specific receptor, ...
