Abstract
An alcoholic extract of Solanum tripartiturn Dunal was found to show significant inhibitory activity when tested in vitro against cells derived from human carcinoma of the nasopharynx (KB). Systematic fractionation led to the separation of solapartine, a liquid alkaloid mixture which possessed significant inhibitory activity against the Walker 256 carcinosarcoma in rats.
