Abstract

Quasi-liquid crystals, a metastable mesophase of thermwhromic spiropyrans containing mesogenic groups, were investigated by different methods. Miscibility studies, X-ray diffraction, and UV-visible and FT-IR spectroscopy indicate that the material behaves basically as a nematic mesophase.
