Abstract
the exclusive methyl iodide alkylation product of such anionic solutions. The significantly more sluggish reaction of 9-chlorobarbaralane with n-butyllithium in refluxing etherI3 provided 75% of a 1: l mixture of bicyclo [3.2. 2] nonatriene and its 4-n-butyl derivative l 4 after aqueous protonation.
