Abstract

Indium (III) chloride is an effective Lewis acid catalyst for one-pot allylation–etherification and reductive etherification of aromatic aldehydes with functional silanes, allyltriethoxysilane, and triethoxysilane, at room temperature to afford corresponding ethers in excellent yields.
