Abstract

Summary A representative number of meta-and para-trialkylsilicon and trialkyltin substituted biphenyls have been synthesized and their thermostability determined. The silicon compounds were found to be more heat resistant than the corresponding tin compounds. No significant difference in the thermostability between the meta-and para-substituted compounds seems to exist.
