Abstract: m-(N, N, N-Trimethy1ammonio) trifluoroacetophenone is a potent, reversible, time- dependent inhibitor of acetylcholinesterases. The respective second-order rate constants (k,) for binding of the ketone to enzymes from Electrophorus electricus and Torpedo calijornica are (1.2 f 0.2) X lo5 and (1.0+ 0.2) X lo5 M-1 sl, while the corresponding dissociation rate constants (k, ff) are (1.
