Abstract
neutral material obtained by steam distillation of the acidic solution described in the preceding section reacted with 2, 4-dinitrophenylhydrazine to give what appeared to be a mixture. From 0.4 g. of the ketone and 0.54 g. of 2, 4-dinitrophenylhydrazine was 2btained 0.8 g. of orange-red plates melting at about 170.
