Abstract

Allenyl thioethers, CHz=C=CR'SR (R' = H or alkyl) have been de- scribed so far only by French investigators They obtained these sub- stances as intermediates or as end-products in the isomerisation of propargyl R' I thioethers, HC= CCHSR, under the influence of sodium ethylate or (of) sodium hydroxide in ethanol at 20-80". In a lecture given later, the French investigators indicate the reversibility of the processes. Experimental details about the reactions are not given however.
